    Antherea suraka - The Madagascan Bullseye moth

    Some notes on rearing Antherea suraka - The Madagascan Bullseye moth

     19/05/2023 - Antherea suraka larvae

    ===================

     Separately, I have some A suraka larvae from eggs I purchased. The eggs hatched at a rate of 1-2 per day over a period of two weeks.  Again, to improve the chance of survival, I gave about half of them to a friend. Of course these larvae are known to be very resilient. The dozen I kept for myself have developed well although at different rates.

    The picture, below is one of the first to adopt the new colour form. It is on Prunus laurocerasus, although the larvae have mostly been reared on privet.
